Everyone at 5NINES is passionate about building a stronger Madison community. Our employees volunteer and work with several local businesses and community organizations to bring customized technology solutions ranging from provisioning hardware to high quality streaming media solutions. Here are a few examples of what we've been up to lately:
MEDIAWORKS audio-visual arts for youth
MEDIAWORKS at Goodman Community Center is a program that provides a creative audio-visual learning experience for kids grades 4-12. The program is directed by Kathleen Ward and staffed by a core group of volunteers who bring their creative expertise and a love of teaching. MW believes every child has a voice worth hearing, needs mentors, and can develop skills to do high–quality creative work in the world. When kids are encouraged to tell their stories, empowered to investigate the stories of others, and have the skills to do good work, everyone benefits. 5NINES has been involved with the program since its inception. We provide the servers, supporting equipment, and technical support to keep the program running efficiently. We are committed to providing on-going support to this important program.

WYOU Community Television broadcasting worldwide
WYOU Community Television—When WYOU Director Barbara Bolan called 5NINES, she was facing a pressing deadline to get the station’s live broadcast online, and she was uncertain whether a solution for the station's need was possible. Other data centers and service providers were unable to fill her requirements. 5NINES was able to work with the station and their internet provider to provision a live web-stream of the WYOU on-air video broadcast. We combined hardware, software and ingenuity to create a solution that continues to relay the live broadcast signal through our Cloud9 data center that converts the signal into a web-friendly stream on the fly. WYOU is now world wide!
Bringing WORT into the 21st Century
WORT 89.9 FM—We're proud to provide Internet service, web-streaming and archiving solutions to Madison’s community radio station WORT 89.9 FM. A wireless Internet link connects the radio station to our Cloud9 data center, where the live radio feed is re-broadcast online. The online broadcasts (and archived shows) are multi-streamed, i.e., users have the option to choose the quality of their listening experience based upon the speed of their internet connection. Listeners and fans here in Madison and around the world are now able to take WORT everywhere they go.
